THE ORGANIST OF MONACO'S CATHEDRAL

Born in Vichy, France, Olivier Vernet’s early passion for the organ led him to study at the National Regional Conservatory in St Maur des Fossés. Over the course of his career, he was awarded numerous awards and has won many competitions throughout Europe, including first prize at the International Organ Competition in Bordeaux in 1991. Mr. Vernet serves as titular organist at the Cathedral of Monaco and co-titular organist in the Church of St. Louis in Vichy. He teaches the organ at the Nice Conservatory and at the Prince Rainier III Academy of Music in Monaco while pursuing an international career as soloist and concert artist. Over the past 20 years, he has given more than 800 performances around the world: France (most notably at the famed Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris), Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Canada, the U.S. and Japan..
