On December 13, 2000, the Principality of Monaco agreed to the conditions of the United Nations Agreement against Organized Transnational Crime that was held during the Palermo Conference on the 11th-15th of December.

The Monegasque delegation, under the direction of Mr. Philippe Deslandes, Government Interior Counselor, was comprised of:

The agreement recently signed by the Principality establishes a base of international cooperation in the fight against organized groups committing serious crimes in the name of profit.

In particular, the agreement specifies that participation in criminal organizations, laundering of funds, corruption, and the hindering of the judicial system will be seriously suppressed.

On the occasion of the signing of this agreement, the Monegasque delegation reaffirmed that dirty money does not have a place in the Principality and that all measures of judicial cooperation will be put in place in order to combat against organized crime.
