H.S.H. CROWN PRINCE ALBERT ATTENDS
THE MILLENNIUM SUMMIT IN NEW YORK

On September 6-8, 2000, Prince Albert represented H.S.H. Prince Rainier III at the United Nations Millennium Summit, during which He gave a speech to an assembly of more than 150 heads-of-state. He spoke of balancing the economic and financial forces propelling these prosperous times with human rights and peaceful, harmonious relations among nations. Calling the beginning of the 21st century "a time of dreams and utopia," H.S.H. Prince Albert equally noted that in a period of globalization and economic success, social justice is often disregarded. Speaking for the Principality of Monaco, He declared, "We envision an organization that serves as a moral reference-point in order to guide world affairs with honesty and high-mindedness."
